OGX is a brand that primarily refers to two distinct entities: a well-known haircare product line and a former Brazilian oil and gas company. The current ownership varies based on the context.
For the haircare brand OGX, ownership belongs to Kenvue Inc. (NYSE: KVUE), which has managed the brand since 2016. Kenvue, formerly part of Johnson & Johnson, became the world’s largest pure-play consumer health company and now oversees OGX® as part of its extensive personal care portfolio[1][5][7]. Johnson & Johnson had originally acquired the OGX haircare line through its purchase of Vogue International in 2016[3].
For the oil and gas company OGX Petróleo e Gás Participações SA (often abbreviated as OGX), it was founded and owned by Brazilian entrepreneur Eike Batista. However, OGX filed for bankruptcy protection in 2013 after financial difficulties, and its largest bondholders were PIMCO and BlackRock[2][6]. The company has since undergone judicial reorganization and is no longer associated with the haircare brand.
