Who Owns Bodyshop

The Body Shop is currently owned by Auréa Group, an investment consortium led by entrepreneur Mike Jatania.

The transition to Auréa Group ownership followed a period of instability and administration after the previous owner, the German private equity group Aurelius, acquired the brand from Natura & Co in late 2023. Shortly after Aurelius’s takeover, The Body Shop entered administration and underwent significant restructuring, including substantial store closures[3][4].

In September 2024, administrators FRP Advisory entered into an exclusivity agreement with a consortium led by Auréa Group. The deal, driven by Mike Jatania—who has a strong background in the beauty industry—was intended to stabilize the retailer and ensure its long-term success. Joining Jatania in the leadership team is Charles Denton, former Molton Brown CEO, who was initially appointed to lead the turnaround, though Jatania has since stepped into the executive chairman and leadership role following Denton’s recent exit[1][5].

Auréa Group officially took over The Body Shop in September 2024, marking the brand’s fourth change of ownership in less than two decades[8].
