Alo is owned by its two founders. The activewear brand belongs to Color Image Apparel, Inc., a private American company held by Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge, childhood friends who founded it in 2007 and are reported to hold roughly half each. Who owns Alo today?

Alo — usually known as Alo Yoga — is a brand of Color Image Apparel, Inc., based in Los Angeles. It is not a separate company in its own right.

Harris and DeGeorge founded the business in 2007 and remain co-chief executives as well as owners, which is unusual at this scale: most brands of comparable size have taken outside investment or sold by this point.

Reporting through 2025 and 2026 has valued the business in the region of $10bn, on the strength of private transactions and estimates rather than any market price.

Color Image Apparel is the parent, and nothing sits above it. The company began as a blank-apparel manufacturer, which is the reason the group has a name that sounds nothing like the brand it is now known for.

That manufacturing origin matters commercially: Alo makes much of its own product rather than outsourcing entirely, which is uncommon among activewear brands and is a direct consequence of what the parent company was before the brand existed.

Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge are reported to hold approximately 50% each. Neither has a controlling majority over the other, which means decisions require agreement between two people — a simple structure, and a fragile one if they ever disagree.

No institutional investor, private equity firm or strategic buyer holds a stake. Alo has been persistently linked with investment interest and with a possible flotation, and neither has happened.
