Who Owns Anthropic?

Anthropic has no owner. Who owns Anthropic today?

Name matching also fails here. ANTHROPICS TECHNOLOGY LIMITED (03614662) is a Gloucester company incorporated in 1998, twenty-three years before Anthropic existed, and several recent registrations use the word with no connection to the AI company.

Ownership history and changes

Anthropic was founded in 2021. Google invested from 2023; Amazon from 2023 with later commitments; Microsoft and Nvidia joined in November 2025. Successive rounds have raised the valuation and diluted existing holders without changing who controls the company, because the investment terms excluded voting rights each time.
