Who Owns InPost?
InPost is owned by InPost S.A. of Luxembourg, which Companies House records as holding 75% or more of the UK company’s shares and votes since 26 January 2021. InPost S.A. is listed on Euronext Amsterdam, was founded by the Polish entrepreneur Rafał Brzoska, and in February 2026 agreed an all-cash takeover by a consortium of FedEx, Advent International, Brzoska’s own vehicle and PPF that had not completed as at this verification. Ownership verified 6 September 2026.
Who owns InPost today?
The UK company is INPOST UK LIMITED (08090698), incorporated 31 May 2012 and registered at Moray House, Great Titchfield Street, London.
Its sole person with significant control is InPost S.A., a Luxembourg company, holding 75% or more of shares and of voting rights and the right to appoint and remove directors, notified 26 January 2021.
The register is a trap for the unwary here. Searching Companies House for “InPost” also returns INPOST DISTRIBUTION LIMITED (01430241, incorporated 15 June 1979) and INPOST RESPONSE LIMITED (01471252, incorporated 1980) — companies that predate the Polish locker business by three decades and are not the parcel company. If you want the right one, use 08090698.
Ultimate parent and corporate structure
InPost S.A. sits above the UK company and is the group’s listed parent, trading on Euronext Amsterdam. It is Luxembourg-registered, which places it outside the UK register entirely — the British chain is one link long and then stops.
The operating business began in Poland and now runs a network of automated parcel machines across several European countries. In Britain its lockers sit outside shops and stations, and since 2025 it also owns a conventional door-to-door courier.
Major shareholders or controlling persons
No single person controls InPost S.A. It has been a listed company since its 2021 flotation, with shares held by institutional and retail investors and with Rafał Brzoska, the founder, holding a stake reported at around 12% through his investment vehicle A&R. Advent International, the private equity firm that built the business up before the listing, sold down over subsequent years.
That would change under the agreed takeover. The consortium’s post-completion split has been announced as Advent 37%, FedEx 37%, A&R 16% and PPF 10% — which would make the founder a minority partner in a business he started, alongside the private equity firm that previously owned it and a global logistics carrier.
None of those figures is a UK register figure, and none is yet in effect.
Official records and evidence
The company number, the 2012 incorporation, the InPost S.A. entry and its 26 January 2021 date are all Companies House records and can be checked directly.
The register also carries two withdrawn “no registrable person” statements — one notified 19 September 2017 and withdrawn 26 January 2021, another notified and withdrawn on 11 September 2024. A withdrawn statement stays visible in the filing history and is not the current position; it usually means a company said it knew of no controller and later corrected that. The first withdrawal is the same day InPost S.A. was notified, so it marks the correction rather than a change of owner.
Everything above the UK company — the Euronext listing, the shareholdings and the takeover terms — comes from InPost’s own market disclosures and from the consortium’s announcements, not from Companies House.
Ownership history and changes
Brzoska founded the Polish business in 1999. The register shows the UK arm’s history from 2012:
- 6 April 2016 — Integer.pl SA of Poland recorded at more than 50% but less than 75%, the original Polish parent.
- 19 September 2017 — Integer.pl ceases; a “no registrable person” statement replaces it. This is the Advent-backed restructuring of the group.
- 26 January 2021 — the statement is withdrawn and InPost S.A. is notified at 75%+, days after the Amsterdam flotation.
The three UK-facing events since: InPost bought Menzies Distribution in 2022, giving it a British logistics operation; it acquired Yodel in 2025, adding a large door-to-door courier to the locker network; and in February 2026 it agreed the €7.8bn consortium offer at €15.60 a share.
If that offer completes, InPost would leave the Amsterdam market and return to private ownership — the reverse of the 2021 flotation, with Advent on both sides of the round trip.
Related companies and brands
InPost owns Yodel and the former Menzies Distribution operation in the UK, along with its locker networks in Poland, Britain, France, Italy, Spain and elsewhere.
It is not connected to Evri, DPD, Royal Mail or Amazon’s locker network, all of which are separately owned and covered elsewhere on this site. Nor is it connected to the 1979 and 1980 companies of similar name in the register.
The FedEx link is worth being precise about: FedEx is currently a prospective shareholder in a consortium, not InPost’s owner and not its parent. Until settlement, InPost is a listed company and FedEx is a bidder.
